A new ‘item of the week’ has been announced by IGIGI today! Again this week, IGIGI are giving us the chance to add one of their beautiful dresses to our wardrobes, at a reduced price.

This week it’s the Beatrice Dress which is being discounted. Usually selling at $104, this dress is now available to us at only $69 - that’s a $35 savings! What a great bargain indeed.

Beatrice Dress is accentuated by brilliant, sparkling rhinestones at the neckline, making this a luxurious and yet comfortable dress. It has a gently gathered off-shoulder neckline band and three-quarter length sleeves that are gently sheered with a rhinestone band at the sleeve hem. It is lined for curve control.

Plus Size Holiday Party Tips: Post 2

This is the second post, in a series of three plus size holiday party tips brought to us by IGIGI. Whereas in the first post, IGIGI guided us to what the hottest trend is, as regards to plus size dresses… this time round IGIGI bring to us some hair-do tips and tricks.

Hollywood Red Carpet Hair

Down Do – Sexy Tousled Hollywood Curls (think Selma Hayek)

Apply mousse to wet hair and blow-dry with a round, mixed-bristle brush.
Set hair in large hot rollers, smoothing each piece of hair before rolling it.
Next, gently remove the rollers and lightly spray the curls with hairspray and let the curls cool before doing anything else.
Once your curls are cool, part your hair to one side (whichever is most flattering to your face) and run a flat, mixed-bristle brush down the length of your hair. Not to much brushing, once or twice should suffice.
Last but not least – apply a finishing cream for added shine.

Up Do – The Classic Low Bun (think Reese Witherspoon)

For a polished, low turn, apply mousse to damp hair and blow-dry with a round, mixed-bristle brush.
Work in a styling gel from the mid-length of your hair down the ends; this will make your tresses easier to manage.
Separate the hair along the crown of your forehead from the rest of your locks, and pin it loosely out of the way.
Pull back the bottom half of your hair into a low ponytail, and secure it with a clear, snag-free elastic at the nape of your neck.
Twist the ponytail and wrap it around the base, securing it with bobby pins.
Take the hair from the top of your head and then tease the roots in small sections to create volume. Then wrap and pin the ends around the base of the bun.
Tame any flyaways with a small amount of finishing cream, apply hairspray for an extra, all-over hold and voila! A chic chignon.

Hair Flying Tip:
Getting off work late and running to a party with no time in between? Adding some barrettes, pins or other fun hair adornments is great for livening up the locks!

It’s that time of the year again… time for holiday and cocktail parties galore. Which brings on the what to wear panic, which brings on the what do I do with my hair panic, to the oh my gosh how do I do my make-up panic. Don’t worry, IGIGI have got you covered with a few tips and tricks to help!

The Plus Size Clothing Scoop will be brining you IGIGI’s tips to looks great during the Holiday season in a series of 3 posts. The first one will focus on what to wear, and the last two will give you make-up and hair do tips and intstruction, to make sure you look curvalicious! So let’s hit it off…

The Party Trend
First off the hot trend in cocktail parties this year is the “Hollywood” cocktail party. This is a fun one to embrace. Look to your favorite Hollywood starlet for inspiration. Think satin, diamonds and even a little fure. Meow! If that’s all a bit scary for you, then is always the classic little black dress. IGIGI have many little hot black numbers, for the all round favorite this season is the Stella Cocktail dress. Very Brigitte Bardot. Yeah baby!

Plus Size Fashion Designers to Admire

When we go to watch a movie at the cinema, we rarely stop and think about all that took place behind the scenes to make the movie possible; the same often happens when we are out and about shopping for clothes, we seldom think about the person who actually created the clothes we buy.

Perhaps, some might not think it very useful to know the background of the people designing the clothes we wear, however I find it interesting and intriguing to get to know more and dig a little deep into the fabric. Just like getting to know what inspires a writer to put thoughts and ideas into words, it is fascinating to me to find out the passions and inspirations of those who design and create the beautiful clothes we wear.

That is why I am today taking a closer look at three unique and intriguing plus size fashion designers, in a bid to bring you a little step closer to those designing the awesome plus size fashions we have available on the market nowadays. Knowing ‘where your clothes come from’, like a piece of art, will make you cherish them more.

Yuliya Zeltser of IGIGI
A fashion designer born and raised in Ukraine, Yuliya felt the need to provide full figured women with beautiful clothing, when she saw how hard it was for her own mother to find clothes in her size that made her feel like a gorgeous and chic woman. Through IGIGI Yuliya is now able to provide plus size women with clothes which not only make them feel beautiful, but which also accentuate their figure. Yuliya designed from the heart and is also sometimes inspired from her travels around the world and the United States.

Monif of Monif C. Plus Sizes
A very artistic person at heart, Monif C. saw the need plus size women had for stylish and sexy clothing, and embarked on a mission to satisfy this need, and dare we say, Monif is doing a pretty good job at it! Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Monif is inspired by life and her dreams. Her aim is to provide curvy women with colorful plus size fashion which makes them feel stylish, inspired, luxurious and sexy.

Anna Nicole of Jahqoi
Anna Nicole is a rising star in the pus size fashion scene. Coming from Detroit, Michigan, but currently residing in California, Anna began sewing clothes at the tender age of 12. In June 2004 Anna launched ANR apparel as an online retail store, to give curvy women more choices of plus size clothing. She has recently moved the retail site over the newly renamed Jahqoi site. Jahqoi when spelled correctly means: ‘I believe’ in French. Anna’s passion is contemporary, modern, sassy styles.

It is interesting, getting to know a little more about plus size fashion designers and the inspirations behind the clothes we wear. There is a lot more than fabric to a dress, more which can turn a beautiful dress into a meaningful work of art.
