A Junk in the Trunk Show will follow, hosted by LUXE a fine shoe boutique in downtown Camas; an expansion of the fine Lily Atelier Boutique, which will be providing all the accessories on the runway. The Fall Runway Showcase will feature the newest, hottest styles available to the full-figured fashionista. With an opportunity to buy, right-on-the-spot at the After Party/Trunk sale, known as the “Junk in the Trunk” event. Summer favorites will also be on available that evening only and a “blow-out” rack.

Curvy Girl Clothing will feature local radio personalities, to professional international models on the runway and everything in-between! We want to put on a show with personality, we will not have a boring back and forth show, we like to mix things up a bit!

I find that their selection of tops is great. There are lots and lot of styles to choose from, ranging from casual as well as formal and party tops.

I a couple of weeks ago I ran across a plus size clothing store I had never visited before, and this one was indeed a store with a difference. Specializing in plus size clothes for girls aged 7 to 12, It Chick Clothes, has made it their mission to make plus size clothing for girls that is anything but boring!

It Chick Clothes was founded by Emily Palit and Chatherine Price, after they realized that only a limited number of girls can actually wear ’standard sizes’ at most retailers. So they joined forced to create a shopping experience for girls which is fun, and stylish. Their collection includes dresses, top, skirts and trousers, which are fun and colorful.

Recently I had a quick chat with Emily, one of the founders, who was kind enough to give us more of a closer look at It Chick Clothes.

What inspired you to create It Chick Clothes?
We both love clothes and fashion, and we saw a need for girls who were being left out of the fun clothes that "other girls" were wearing. The girls we’ve spoken to have used the words "other girls" when describing what they want to wear; you can hear that they feel marginalized. There’s a catch-22 for these larger girls: they’re told they can wear the trendier clothes if they lose weight, but this is pretty discouraging. In contrast, we want girls to feel good in our clothes, no matter how much they weigh. We love the lit up faces that we see on girls who wear our clothes.

How long has this online store been in existence?
We started on eBay two years ago, and we opened http://www.itchickclothes.com in early 2006.

What’s the main goal behind this one of a kind online store?
Our goal is to offer really cute clothes for girls 7 to 12 who may have a harder time shopping at traditional retailers. The end goal is to offer the same styles in the right sizes for our clients. Plus size clothing label Missphit has just announced the launch of their online retail site Missphit.com.

Prior to this launch, Missphit was only available through a small selection of boutiques and select Dillard’s department stores. However, with overwhelming requests from plus size women, as well as a desire to make their clothing more available, Missphit decided to launch an online store to satisfy style-starved plus size fashionistas.

I have been following Nikki Blonsky for quite a while now, looking especially closely at the fashion choices she makes, because so far they rock! So I amm feeling quite ashamed right now to confess that I haven’t even watched Hairspray yet! It’s been a very busy Summer, but I hope to watch the movie as soon as possible.

Anyhow, as I’m sure most of you have noticed that Nikki is often see wearing beautiful IGIGI pieces. There must be some kind of love affair going on between Nikki and IGIGI, and to me it looks like a very successful and promising match, because Nikki always manages to flatter her curves and look beautiful.

In this post I’d like to go over the IGIGI pieces Nikki has chosen in the past few months. So here goes…

Earlier this month Nikki was spotted at the 60th Locarno International Film Festival alongside director Adam Shankman. She was wearing IGIGI’s Yoke Wrap Dress, which she creatively spiced up by wearing a leopard print belt.

In late July Nikki was a guest at the David Letterman show. For her appearance on the show Nikki chose IGIGI’s Dress with Yole in black and red, which was a stunner!

Another winning look was achieved with the Navy Trench Dress, which Nikki wore during her appearance on the Regis and Kelly show last July 26th.

On July 20th, Nikki strutted her stuff magically on the ‘Today Show’ wearing the Polka Dot Dress in red. The cast members from Hairspray were all present on the show, where they also gave a great performance.

The July 18th Baltimore premier of Hairspray was another great occasion, and Nikki was a star during the night wearing the Stella Cocktail Dress.

On July 10th, a special dress needed to be chosen for the Los Angeles premier of Hairspray. So it was no surprise to see that Nikki chose IGIGI’s Shimmering Dress in Liquid Copper.

The London premier of Hairspray, held on July 5th, called for another great dress to be chosen. Nikki did not disappoint her audience, and fellow plus size ladies, by choosing IGIGI’s Maya Chiffon Dress in black/coral.

On April 22nd, the Siren Dress in Cobalt was Nikki’s top choice for attending the Movieline’s Hollywood Life 9th Annual Young Hollywood Awards.

Nikki’s fashion sense is a great as her talent. The fashion choices she has made so far were spot on! She manages to choose plus size clothing items to create stylish, sexy and fun outfits that flatter her figure and make her curves look gorgeous. I truly hope Nikki keeps up this sense of style, so that she keeps on being an fashion icon for plus size women all over the world!
