One of the two ‘plus size’ contestants in the current season of America’s Next Top Model, Diana Zalewski, has just been eliminated from the contest. Apparently Diana failed to impress judges and was sent home because according to them she lacked the “fire and passion” required to be successful in the modeling industry.
BuddyTV.com have some excellent commentary on this elimination, as well as the whole issue with American’s Next Top Model wanting to include more ‘plus size’ models in the contest. Diana has been in fact interviewed exclusively by BuddyTV.com and you can actually hear Diana recount her experiences being part of American’s Next Top Model. Then in a very interesting article, Mel asks whether America’s Next Top Model really want more ‘plus size’ models on the show. Great commentary and worth a read!
So this leaves Whitney Cunningham as the only remaining curvy model on the show. How long until she is eliminted you think? I don’t mean to burst anyone’s bubble here, but I think it will be another few years until we see a plus size model being crowned winner in America’s Next Top Model. I hope I am proved wrong.

Then you will be glad to find out get to know that the Full Figured Diva Academy is holding a curvy model boot camp on Sunday, 7th January 2007 at Beltsville, MD. This is your chance to jump start your full figured modeling career. Learn about runway techniques, agency procedures, portfolio development and many more items. Classes begin on 7th January, 2007 at 2:00PM, and the boot camp costs $265. You must be a size 12 and up to enroll. Join DeVoe Signature Events and the Voluptuous Woman Company for another curvy explosion. DeVoe Signature Events is looking for the best of the best to compete in the 2007 Charlotte, NC Full Figured and Fabulous Model Competition. This event is taking place on 9th December, 2006 and is open to all plus size women, who wear sizes 14- 24, and are aged 18 and over. When attending the audition make sure you wear all black attire and heels, bring a comp card or a recent full length photo, a $20 application fee, a great attitude, and a fantastic runway walk. Remember, you do not have to live in Charlotte, NC to be a contestant.
