As announced recently, one of the most recent additions to the Pasazz.net list of plus size clothing stores is Mimi’s Curvy Corner. Mimi offers a great range of stylish items for curvy ladies, at attractive prices.

I had the opportunity to speak with Mimi more closely recently, about the store, how it was created and what the future holds. Read the interview questions below to get a closer glimpse at Mimi’s Curvy Corner.

1. When was Mimi’s Curvy Corner launched, and what inspired you to create this store?
Our business was launched in 2003. I was strongly inspired to focus on plus size fashion because of the lack of trendy, figure-flattering styles available to curvy women. I have personally worn plus size tops from adolescence, and I can’t tell you the frustration I have felt throughout the years at the shapeless and boring styles at our local stores. It’s a joy to bring stylish and trendy clothing to other curvy women.

2. What is the aim of the store, and what type of customer are you looking to attract?
Our aim is to give curvy women a place to shop for plus size clothing in a variety of styles: from classic, to trendy, to sexy. And not only this, but we take pride in bringing these styles at affordable prices to our customers. The women who shop at Mimi’s are all ages in all stages of life who are not only curvy, but have a sense of confidence. Our goal is to attract women and teens who are seeking to become more confident and step out of the boxy plus size clothing we have become so accustomed to.

3. I noticed that you carry both clothing, and lingerie… are the style you carry designed by you, or are they a collection of various designers?
Our clothing and lingerie lines are currently a collection of various designers.
 
4. If so, which plus size clothing labels do you carry?
We carry collections from a variety of designers, including (but not limited to) Ashley Stewart, Kaelyn Max, Max Loft, and more.

5. Besides shopping online, is there another way how people can purchase from Mimi’s Curvy Corner?
Currently, we are strictly an online boutique and orders can be placed either through our secure online shopping cart or by telephone, but stay tuned…Mimi’s Curvy Corner is planning to open it’s doors in the Philadelphia area in the near future.

6. Are there any special plans laid out for the holiday season… some special items coming up perhaps?
Yes, we have a few promotions planned for this holiday season, including pre-holiday specials, contest give-aways, and more. So keep watch and stay tune. A really good way to be the first to know about our promotions is to sign up for our newsletter.

We also have a fabulous holiday collection in the works, including cocktail dresses and some great holiday party pieces in lots of gorgeous holiday colors: gold tones, silvers, ruby reds, and , of course, the always sexy black.

7. What does the future hold for Mimi’s Curvy Corner?
We will continue to focus on our goal: to cater to curvy women in sizes 1X and up. We want to provide our customers with a fun, positive, and confidence-boosting place to shop. We are currently in the process of expanding our collections to include our own personal designs.  We will also be adding more undergarments, shapewear, and lingerie. And, again, if you’re in the Philadelphia area…look out for a store near you.
