Queen Latifah Launches the Queen Collection on HSN

Shop the Queen Latifah Collection at HSN! Last Saturday 27th August, Queen Latifah launched her brand new clothing and accessory line, which she has aptly called the Queen Collection. This collection is now available exclusively through HSN (the Home Shopping Network).

This has been a long awaited collection; I know that many plus size women look up to Queen Latifah for her sense of style and confidence, so this Queen Collection will be very much welcome within the plus community! Having said that, I was slightly disappointed to see that the sizes of most items in the collection go up to just 3XL: this will surely leave some women disappointed, especially seeing the gorgeous styles available in this collection.

I’ve browsed around and so far I am loving the Suede Moto Jacket with leather trim and the Sequin Tim V-neck Tunic. I do hope more styles are added on to this collection, and more importantly it is expanded to cater for women sized over 3XL.

Besides sweaters, jackets, dresses, jeans, leggings and ponchos, the Queen Collection also includes a variety of stylish handbags and accessories.

So, what do you think of the long awaited Queen Collection?

Eh, it’s alright. I watched HSN on Saturday night. Some pieces are adorable, some are downright blah. All are overpriced.

Not impressed. I won’t be buying anything. I wish her the best with that though!

So far, so good. I ordered the riding-style leggings and am hopeful they’re of the quality I’m expecting. I’ll keep you posted!

Well, the line leaves me out. Kind of disappointing to discover that it will only go up to a 3X in sizes. I hope she will take another look and offer larger sizes.

I had been looking forward to her new collection since I heard about it several months ago. I have always enjoyed her style and hoped to see some of that come out in the collection. I have to say I was horribly disappointed by cost, lack of sizes (Queen Collection Ruffle-Front Shirt with Long Sleeves, only goes up to a 2x), cost – over priced for a recession economy – for those prices I can do without. I do love the styling of the Moto jacket, but cannot justify spending that kind of money right now. Additionally, I felt like the pieces (dresses in particular) were not inspired by Queen Latifa’s taste nor style style. It was a huge let down.

I love the hooded zip sweater poncho, the metallic leather jacket but otherwise I thought the line was kind of small and shouldn’t have featured basics like leggings and a tank. We all have basics or can get the anywhere. $50 for a tank top is a bit much even if it has an embellishment. Hopefully there is more to come.

Indeed! Let’s hope this is only the beginning, and let’s hope they reduce those prices too!

Evidently the Queen doesn’t think her clothes look good on plus-size models or she would have USED them!
So disappointed…once again, plus-size clothes on thin models. Really, Queen?!!

Took a look and I will pass, thanks. One or two pieces look nice, and I liked the one handbag, but the prices are too high. The “collection” is much too small and contains pedestrian things you can pick up bargain hunting…leggings? tank? schleppy sloppy looking stuff? Forget it, it reminds me of all the ugly clothes I have thrown away because they are not flattering in any way, shape or form. I like her a lot, and was hoping this would be terrific. It’s not. I wish her luck with it.

I think it’s very boring, and not anything special. I’m also disappointed that she doesn’t have plus size women modeling the clothes. You can’t even tell it was designed by a plus size women or that it’s for ps women. I think most of the items are plain and I can find them much cheaper just about anywhere. I really doubt I’ll even check back later when she’s added more items, I think it’s all overpriced and boring.
