Do you need some beauty inspiration for your next date night? Why not focus on your makeup rather than your outfit? With the right combination of color and sheen, you can boost your confidence and elevate your date to a heavenly level. Whether you are going out for a quiet meal or to a glitzy event, you can put together the perfect look. The key is to highlight your best features in a magically subtle way.

Date Night Makeup

Work Your Eyes

Smoldering, mysterious eyes are ideal for nighttime. No matter what shape your eyes are, you can achieve some sort of smoky look. The best colors to use are grays, purples, dark greens or metallic golds. Begin by applying a light, shimmering shadow across your entire eyelid and up to your brow. Use a soft, dark liner to blend in color across the upper lash line, and sweep a medium tone onto the lid and into the crease. Use the same dark liner under your lower lash line, and smudge it to create an exotic look. If a smoky eye isn’t your style, create a spicy cat eye instead. Use black, navy blue, gunmetal gray or forest green liner. Apply it by stretching the outer edge of your eye and swiping the liner across the upper lash line into the crease that forms as you pull your skin. Brush a shimmery, natural shadow from your lid to your brow for added depth. If your eyes are small, swipe white liner on the inner skin of the lower lash line, and brush a light shimmer shadow on the inner corners of your eyes.

Highlight Your Skin

Soft, radiant skin is essential for any date night, but finding the right balance of sexy and subtle is difficult for many women. To simplify things, mix gold powder shadow or liquid luminizer into your foundation or moisturizer. Blend a coral or rose powdered blush onto the apples of your cheeks for a pop of color. On top of the blush, dust some silver or gold shimmer to electrify your nighttime look. For your body, avoid using glittery powders, lotions or moisturizers. These can make you look overdone, and they may detract from your natural beauty. Instead, sweep the essential parts of your body with a subtle bronzer, shimmering powder or glowing lotion. Use gold dust in cleavage and on the collarbone to create an eye-catching sheen.

Make Your Lips Kissable

Rich, glossy, alluring color is ideal for nighttime lips. Bold reds, hot pinks and deep corals are perfect for virtually any skin tone. The key is to blend these rock star colors so you achieve a chic, sophisticated look. Apply an opaque gloss for a misty shine, or use a moisturizing cream lipstick with a lustrous, sheer gloss on top. To plump up small lips, apply a medium-shade liner to the outer edges. You can create a captivating look for your next date night by simply amping up the allure factor. Take your normal techniques and give them some pizzazz. Add color, shine, and sheen in the places you want to spotlight.

Don’t stray too far from your everyday aesthetic, but don’t be afraid to experiment either. Be bold without overdoing it, and you can create an unforgettable and dazzling date night look.
