Should Plus Size Women Wear Pencil or A-Line Skirts?
Today’s featured plus size fashion tips video we see communications expert Kristie Prince Hale discuss whether plus size women should wear a pencil skirt or an A-line skirt.
This is a question many curvy women ask themselves, and the truth in fact is, you don’t need to worry too much about what you should not wear! As Kristie says in the video below, wear whatever feels comfortable to you! Simply match up different tops and accessories with these unique style of skirts to create a winning look.
What Kristie suggests is the following: When wearing a pencil skirt, you can pair it up with a blouse or a top with a more classic style to it which might not necessarily be as tight fitting. This way you get the sex appeal created with the pencil skirt, but still feel comfortable and achieve a balanced, winning look. On the other hand the A-line skirt featured in this video is paired up with a basic top which is tucked in; this helps define your silhouette better and accentuate your waist. You can also pair such an outfit up with a blazer or jacket, perfect for an office ensemble.

Hi Pasazz,
I applaud you for you website and ur informative video but I’m sorry I have some problems with this clip. I am a plus size 35 year old.
showing clips of small sizes clothing on small sizes mannequins does not inspire confidence for me or other plus size ladies and the girl presenting is not plus size either. I have been to fashion design school and have other qualifications within the industry and through my experience most plus size girls have a tummy and tucking in tops is not an option as it not only adds to the tummy area, it also makes ur hips and bust look even bigger. A line skirts look great on skinny legged girls but for most of us a knee length a line skirt shortens the body and makes ur hips and bottom look even bigger. In my experience a nice pencil skirt can go a long way, if its not too short. But in this clip you have paired it with a short length knit which finishes at our biggest part, our tummies! Why? 50/50 proportions are not fashionable and make us look even bigger. This skirt needs a longer top. I agree that adding detail around the neck draws ur eye away from the body which is good. I hope this constructive critisism helps when understanding and directly talking to our gorgeous plus size ladies Best intentions

Hi Amelia! I thank you for taking the time to send in your comment. I appreciate your thoughts; I wanted to point out that whenever possible we do strive to display videos/photos of real plus size women on Pasazz.net, but at times we find useful information around the web which we would like to share which unfortunately does not display real plus size women. We choose to display this info sometimes because we feel it still provides useful tips. We didn’t create this video ourselves, however we felt it still provided some useful information worth sharing.
