Barbara Brickner has been a working model for over 10 years. She works with Wilhelmina Agency in New York and Heffner Agency in Seattle as well as several other agencies around the world. Discovered by Bill Heffner, Barbara made her start in Seattle and has moved on to the New York and European Markets, also appearing several times on National Television doing runway. Barbara’s work with Eddie Bauer, Lands End, Nordstrom and Elena Miro (Italy) shows she is proud to be part of the ever-changing industry of plus size modeling.
Barbara has been at the forefront of many positive changes in the industry with her appearances in MODE magazine along with featured appearances in the Seattle Times and the Wall Street Journal. She has also been a regular guest on Seattle’s Northwest Afternoon. With this, Barbara has discussed the issues of being “plus” in our society today. Always an advocate of healthy living, Barbara, with her degree in communications from Washington State University talks to students about body image and her role as a model to help break unhealthy thinking about the ultra-thin images in our society today.
Barbara’s plans for the future include a maternity clothing line to come out in the Fall of 2003. She also is working toward a life long dream and goal of becoming a Country Music artist. And last but definitely not least; Barbara is working on a project to give back to the community.
