New Fall Precision Collection at Kiyonna

Kiyonna has continued adding more plus size fall fashion items to their stock... and the new sophisticated clothes are really worth a closer look! These new clothes have a structured look to them, a look which is dominating the fall fashion season, with military inspirations, smart tailoring and organic prints.

There are two items I have my eye on, and cannot seemt to coming to a decision... which one should I get?

I have fallen in love with the Poet Sleeved Faux Wrap Drap Dress. It is beautiul and romantic. Besides, the cut of the dress makes is a curve accentuator, which is exactly something I look out for in all my clothes.

Then there is the Military Wrap Dress in Merlot... I simply adore the color, it's different and one which is not very common, therefore this dress is definitely made to make anyone who wears it stand out. It's has an air of sophisticated chic-ness.

Help! I am undecided!

But I am sure I am not alone, anyone who looks at the new Kiyonna additions, is bound to be confused as to what to buy!

What Curvy Girls Should Wear on a Dinner Date

When preparing to go out, I often decide beforehand what I'd want to wear. However the times that I actually end up wearing what I had initially decided I'd wear are very very slim! Whilst dressing up, I start thinking that this and the other don't go together, or these colors don't match and so on an so forth. Sometimes deciding on what's best to wear is an ordeal, and it's even more of a nightmare when it's an important occassion... like a date!

IGIGI's lifestyle corner have recently published a very interesting article which gives plus size women style tips and ideas on what best to wear when going on a dinner date. Whether you are a working girl, a shopisticated cat, or an adventurous maven, check this article out as it has a ton of ideas, which will hopefully make your dressing up for a date ritual a more relaxed one!

Fat acceptance on stage

The contemporary American play Fat Pig has just opened in the Kitchen Dog Theater's 2006/07 season. Created by Neil LaBute Fat Pig "tries to camouflage its childish delight in shocking the audience's sensibilities as an attempt to teach us to be less prejudiced -– in this case, against overweight people. Mr. LaBute, though, is really wallowing in the nastiness he portrays, not getting outraged by it." For more information please visit the Dallas Morning News and also http://www.kitchendogtheater.org.

When are we going to smell the coffee?

It looks like more curves are hitting the catwalk around the world. Did you know that currently the Spaniards require that all models on the catwalk during this week of fashion need to have a BMI of more than 18, this measure was set up to prevent drastically underweight models from hitting the runways. Moreover it can also be said that such a measure was triggered following the tragic death of Luisel Ramos last month, who suffered a heart attack after stepping off the catwalk. Luisel had merely been living on fluids.

Although this measure was set up in Spain, major fashion capital such as Paris, would never dream of putting this into action. It's shocking to think that being skinny and saving on fabrics is more important in some places, than it is to promote a healthy lifestyle and a healthy images to young girls. More on this issue and also an interview with plus size model Charlotte Coyle can be found in an article publised this week in The Telegraph.

Crystal Renn: plus size modelling sensation

I must say, although Crystal Renn is a familiar face to me, I did not really know who she was, or what she was all about. That was until today: I came across this article at the SundayMirror.co.uk which explains Crystal's journey from being a 7 stone skinny model, to an 11 stone superstar. Crystal now wears a size 16, and has found fame after gaining weight. She has appeared in Vogue and is currently the sensation of fashion house Dolce & Gabbana, as well as designer Jean-Paul Gaultier.

Now this is the kind of news I would like to hear everyday! What enouragement this gives to plus size women, especially teenagers, everywhere. Hopefully stories like Crystal's will become more commonplace and more skinny models will start to gain beautiful curves, as Crystal has.

Read more about Crystal here.

How to wear black

An interesting article I came across at TheIndyChannel.com discusses how more and more fashion designers nowadays are focusing on plus size fashion and the needs of curvy women. It goes on to explore how a staple item in every woman's closet is something in the color black; basically the reason for this is because this helps women look slimmer. However the article goes on to emphasize that it's not merely just a question of wearing something black; if one wears something black that is baggy and oversized, that is not going to be of much help to flatter the figure! Instead women should focus mostly on fit and fabric, even if it's in black. Read the full article today at TheIndyChannel.com.

Have you seen the new Jessica London?

Jessica London, a plus size clothing store carrying fashions in sizes 14W to 34W (including petites and talls) has today announced the launch of a new, revamped website! At first glance, the changes are noticeable, and the website now looks very professional and easier to navigate and shop around. The main categories available on the main page are 'New Arrivals', 'Clothing', 'Shoes & Accessories', 'Outerwear' and 'Clearance'. Browsing through these sections provides a shopper with further shopping options.

Perhaps one suggestion I would make to Jessica London, for further website improvement and a better user experience, would be for them to use more real plus size models to showcase their curvy fashions. However the quality and prices are so good, we suggest all plus size women check out their new website today!

As summer fades away, exciting things are ahead!

If like me, you adore the summer months, then you might be feeling a little bit down in the dumps knowing that this hot season will soon officially be over. The colder seasons will soon creep up on us!

I will surely miss those long days at the beach, however I am looking forward to the winter months this year. Besides the fact that sometimes the heat has been unbearable this summer, so some cool weather is definitely most welcome, I am excited about the new stylish fashions that I am seeing at stores. The fall/autumn and winter plus size fashion is going to be rocking this year.

In our new article Thou Shall Not Miss Summer, we further discuss why plus size women should not miss summer too much, as the winter months this year have a lot of great things in store for us. Read the full article at Pasazz.net.

New plus size fall tops from IGIGI

IGIGI, a unique and very chic plus size clothing store, has just added two brand new fall fashion tops to their stock. To get a closer look at these tops do visit the IGIGI website, however here is a little peek at what these new tops looks like…

The Francine Tunic
A beautiful wrap over style top, which does wonders to accentuate the curves and continues to enhance your figure. This top is very versatile as it can be dressed up, or dressed down according to your needs. Imagine wearing this top to work under a dark suit, and then spicing it up for an evening dinner by swapping your court shoes with a pair of sexy high heeled sandals, colored to match the top… obviously ditching your blazer for the special occasion! This top comes in three great colors to suit your tastes: blue, cranberry and gray.

The Allegra Top
This plus size top, which is perfect to the fall/autumn season is perhaps a little more ‘youngish’ looking. However it still is very much suited for a variety of occasions. Again, you can easily wear this top to work, or to a business meeting; and then again in the evening for a drink at the bar. Wear it with a sexy pencil skirt and make sure your high heeled sandals or mules are at hand. This too is available in three colors: black, blue and red.

These two tops and many more perfect for the upcoming season are available at IGIGI! Visit the IGIGI website to take a much closer look at both these items.

Fresh Ayer: a new name in plus size fashion

Fresh Ayer is a new plus size clothing line, which will be opening its virtual doors to all curvy women very soon. This store should be providing something unique to all full figured women, so I’m very eager to the launch. The basic concept of Fresh Ayer is to provide fashion forward hip clothing that is of a higher quality then what is currently available in the plus size fashion market today. To be providing clothing in sizes 14 to 26, Fresh Ayer will specifically focus on the fit needs of the full figured woman offering her everything she needs to go from work into the evening or out on a weekend. Their offering will range from well-cut and affordable suiting to casual wear, denim and accessories for women of all sizes.
